EcoZoic Detroit

As part of a collaborated effort between organizers in 20 cities worldwide, EcoZoic Detroit will host a discussion about shamanism and its practical implications for the city and all of the life that inhabits it. On Thursday August 20th in conjunction with evolver.net and shamanportal.com you are cordially invited to discuss, experience, and explore during an evening of “Shamanic Panic.” The event will take place around the fire pit on the infamous 4th Street (home of the 4th Street Fair) and will include guest speakers from local shamans (yes, they exist) to cultural outsiders initiated in the ancient tradition of Sun Dance.

An open space format will provide guests with the opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, and address concerns with one another. In addition, those interested will have the chance to register for an Inipi Ceremony (traditional sweat lodge) occurring two days later on August 22nd. Guests will also discover additional resources and information regarding indigenous belief systems and practices in relation to healing our immediate environment. This event is free and open to the public.
